This school year has started off brimming with robotics! To highlight the month of October, the team competed at GRITS, demonstrated the power of women in STEM and hosted our semi-annual Gaming Gauntlet!

On October 22, 2016, G3 Robotics competed in the Georgia Robotics Invitational Tournament Showcase, aka GRITS! JV members built a functional robot in only a few weeks. They were able to experience the gritting process of scouting and the intense, but subliminal feel of driving a robot against 24 other FIRST Robotics teams. We will be sure to apply the insight and knowledge gained from this off-season event when FRC season begins.

WTS Scholarship Luncheon
On October 27, 2016, G3 went to the Georgia Aquarium to celebrate Alex Lin for winning the 2016 WTS Atlanta annual scholarship award! Transportation YOU, a hands-on and committed sponsor of G3, is focused on increasing the amount of women in STEM, and encourages Alex Lin to use her scholarship to further her academic interests in STEM. Go Alex!

Gaming Gauntlet
Two days before Halloween, G3 hosted our semi-annual Gaming Gauntlet raking in roughly $1700 to help the team. Students at Grady high school and even from the neighboring middle school, Inman, came to compete in tournaments. Many also came to just be with friends and play games for fun. This student-run event was a huge success, and we already can't wait for the next one in the second semester!

On December 10th, G3 will host its annual FLL tournament and would love to recruit more volunteers to help out! If you would like to assist and want a step-by-step process, click here. For further questions, please email grady.robotics@gmail.com.
